Improve Your Credit Score In 5 Steps
Does your credit need improving? Well, there is good news. Here are 5 steps to improve your credit:
1. Call your creditors and ask them to setup a budget amount on your bill. Many of the creditors you owe will set up payments plans, working with you so that you can pay off your bills. They prefer to setup a budget amount that you can afford, rather than go through the hassle of calling credit bureaus and credit collectors.
2. Take some time to visit your library and get one of the How to do it yourself- credit repair guides. Use this guide to help you resolve your credit issues. Follow each step in the guide until your credit issues are resolved.
3. Next, ask your creditors for leniency on your penalty charges and interest rates. Many of the creditors will delete these extra costs. They prefer that you pay off the actual bill amount. Instead of worrying about the chump change incurred from interest and other charges, they prefer the original amount of money owed to them. Creditors want you to return as an active customer, so they often offer benefits to those who do not fear asking for help.
4. Obtain three copies of your credit reports from Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. Each year you are eligible for one free copy of your reports. If you have already gotten your report, then you will have to pay nominal fees to get another report. This is important to do because you need to review these reports for errors and get them taken care of.
5. Close the accounts of credit cards with small balances after paying them off.
