3 Ways To Easily Increase Your Credit Score
It seems that most people are drowning in credit these days and do not know where to turn for help. I know I have been down that road before and fortunately, I am making my way back. I thought it would be helpful to some if I was able to share the 3 ways to easily increase your credit score. These are time tested and will help you get that FICO up there where you want it to be. Let’s jump right into it and look at how it is done:
1. Review the big three credit reporting agencies report. The three companies that report your credit are: Transunion, Experian, and Equifax. This is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your credit score. You will be shocked when you see all three reports as I have found a bunch of erroneous information and documentation that should have been dropped a long time ago and never did get taken off the report.
2. Close out small balance credit cards. One of the most important things to remember is to close the account. Just because you have a zero balance do not assume that the account is closed because it will not be until you formally request via written letter to the company to close the account. Even after you write the letter you should take the time to ask for a written document showing they closed the account. This will help your credit score over time.
3. Ask for a delinquency or failure to pay to be dropped. The old saying is true, “You don’t know what someone will say unless you ASK.” I have gotten so much further ahead by just asking companies to drop a bad report. You can probably save 50 points on your FICO just by going through your reports and individually requesting negative information be dropped - it is amazing!
If you follow these three easy steps you will be ahead of the game. Good luck ahead.
